This is Life

Instead of a baked potato he ate a pluot and doughnut peaches for dinner. Summer is great.

The W.I.F.

We went to the fair.  It was a REALLY hot day (last Saturday).  Also, our camera battery was dead.  No pictures, but we didn't do too many things anyway.  Cedrik was able to touch the sting rays.  We looked at the animals in the petting zoo area (kind of sad really that they sit in those little cages all day--especially those big cows--and other things that look like cows) but he seemed to like looking at the animals.  He did not want to touch any of them.  Jordan and I ate a Pronto Pup (Oh my!) and had some yummy lemonade.  Then we went home.  Neither of us like roller coasters, or other rides that make you want to puke, so we didn't ride any.  Cedrik had the most fun when we let him push the stroller on our way out of the fair.  Maybe next year we'll have more fun...and hopefully if you went, you had more fun!

Mom's Visit

My mom came to visit this weekend.  She was here about 4 days and we had a great time.  On Thursday night we went and ate West Side Drive In.  We ate at a park downtown on 22nd and Irene.  It was a cute park and had a lot of shade!  Cedrik kind of opened up to her when she gave him a french fry.  We stopped at Goody's on the way home and Cedrik got to eat some of Grandma's vanilla ice cream.  He was very happy with her.

The next morning he must not have remembered the food she gave him the night before. We ran a few errands, and ate at Casa Mexico for dinner.  We all love mexican food and Cedrik did pretty well in the restaurant.

Saturday, we had a fun filled day!  First we ate some parmeasen bagels...mmm...and then headed to the farmers market.  We bought some huge, gorgeous sun flowers, fresh local fruit, bread and veggies.  It was fun to walk around, but it was also when Cedrik was used to napping, so he was yelling a lot of the time and Jordan was trying to pacify him with food, which worked until his mouth was empty again.

I couldn't quite get the timing down...

...so Jordan gave me a lesson on timing.

After we went to Hyde Park Pub and Grill.  We had a good lunch (burger, sandwich, salad, more fries--really good fries).

Jordan had a Dr's appt that afternoon.  So we waited for him outside under some shade trees and went to Goody's for some chocolate, chocolate coke and an Italian soda. Cedrik napped for about 30 minutes, which wasn't enough, but it was all he could stand.

Then we headed to the ZOO!  We had fun and Cedrik was a little more interested in the animals this time around.

In the butterfly exhibit.

I have a moth phobia (a real one) and thought that I would be fine in the butterfly exhibit because I've never had a problem with them. When they land on me, I found out, I have a BIG problem with it.

Don't you just want to let him out?

And him too???

Jordan really doesn't like his picture taken.

Can you tell they're father and son?

He literally passed out at 6:30.

On Sunday we went for breakfast at Elmer's and just hung out the rest of the day until it was time for her to go.  Hopefully we'll get to see her and Warren before the baby comes in December.

Calendula Salve!

On top of everything else that we did over the weekend, Carla taught me how to make Calendula Salve.  This salve is one of the best things ever!  It is great for cuts, burns, bites, skin irritations, you name it!  Here's how we made it!
