Head Holding and Bath

Too tired to burp.

Alien head and some cleavage.

He made this face when the camera was pulled out.

Scraptized

I made my first ever scrap book page on Saturday. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be! Carla and Jara talked me into it and Jordan gave me tips the whole time. I made the comment that when I as baptized I thought I became a  Mormon, but I think I truly became one after I made my first page! Jordan called it being scraptized. Jara gave me a lot of pages and tools, etc to get me started with scrapping. I ended up making about 6 pages while we were in UT and I am hoping I can start making Cedrik a book now.

The First Page

No, Carla's dining room table isn't always like this. They have all the scrapping stuff out for a couple of weeks to try to catch up.

The Joys of Being a Stay at Home Mom

Besides being able to sleep in till noon, watch tv all day and unlimited shopping sprees...oh wait, none of that happens...

Let's try this again: While I was pregnant people said I should enjoy the unlimited sleep I got and my alone time. True, I sleep a little less, and it is harder than I thought it would be to get things cleaned, but I am able to see my baby grow and develop every day. I get to spend quality time with him and just hang out. Is this really a job?!? I am able to shower and clean when he takes his morning nap and I still have time to make breakfast, lunch and dinner for my husband. Now, my house isn't as clean as I like it to be, "my" time is interrupted every 2 to three hours with feedings and I have diapers to change 24hrs per day. BUT if I look at this more positively: my house is cleaner than most, "my" time is really his time and he deserves it and we get to decide how we diaper!

I have also been able to start cultivating my cooking style. So far I've made: tatertot casserole, homemade mac and cheese, carbonara, a mexican fiesta casserole, quiche and homemade oreos. Jordan said I'm allowed to make all of them again.
Another great perk of staying home is being able to leave home on a moments notice. Although we don't have enough money to go on many vacations, Jordan's job allows us to travel sometimes. Now that I don't work, we don't have to ask for time off either! On Monday we were able to go to Driggs, Idaho. I was pretty excited to go and see where Shayla had lived for a few years. Her house was gorgeous. It was also fun having a tour guide. "I went ice fishing over there on Lake Jackson with a random guy named Buzz." "Around here is where Shayla rolled the durango." "Boulder Creek got moved over here."

On Monday night Jordan had to work for about an hour and half. Then we went for amazing hot wings and pizza at Tony's. We were able to drive around, look at the pretty houses and dream of our house that we will build one day. That is until a screaming baby halted those thoughts and we had to hurry back to the hotel to feed him.

The next morning we woke up early and drove to Jackson, WY. It is much prettier there than the southern part of the state. We had both been there when we were younger (I didn't remember anything) but again, had a great tour guide....well, kind off. We were going to try to find a few famous peoples' homes, but Jordan couldn't remember how to get to them. We did see some nice scenery though. If there weren't 7 months of winter it would probably be a very nice place to live. Our first stop in town was to buy a shirt for Jordan. He had stained it with salsa from that mornings breakfast. Would you rather walk around with a stained shirt or walk around town in a sovenier shirt?

We also went to a cute little candy shop and bought some huckleberry salt water taffy. Mmmmmm. We walked to the center of town and took some photos.

We had planned on eating lunch there, but neither of us were hungry, so we decided to start on our way home.

The Grand Tetons

Family Portrait

We're sure he'll remember this trip forever!

Sleeping Indian

While we were driving home we both realized that we had gone rafting on the same river. So we had to stop at the famous rapid: Lunch Counter. It was a little bit of a hike to see the actual rapid, but we were able to stretch our legs.

Sooo huge, right?! (The water is very low right now)

I didn't get any pictures, but we then stopped at the Palisades Dam. Jordan's Grandpa Freddie helped build it which is pretty cool. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. We didn't get home until 7:30 that night and Jordan caught a cold somehow, but the trip was very fun!

Oh Yeah, Big Boy.

We went to the midwives on Monday. I am all healed and got the go ahead to work out! Finally. Being so sedintary has actually been harder than I thought it would be. Cedrik is 12lbs 2oz and we couldn't measure him because their measuring tape wasn't long enough! He's such a big boy and so funny. He just discovered his keys (see video below) and once he's grasped them, he will not let go for anything (even if they hit him in the face)! He is smiling and cooing a lot and trying really hard to laugh. He is doing those silent laughs and can't quite get the sound to come out. It is hilarious.

We'll be blessing him on the 15th down in UT and the next weekend Mom is coming out here to visit. We have a busy month, but I'll try to capture it on film!
