First Haircut

I didn't document the boys first haircuts. This seems more momentous. So, here it is.

He's Five

We can't believe it's been five years since Cedrik Jordan was born.

At five years old Cedrik is:
Learning to read
Independent
Speaks his mind
Full of emotions
Feels deeply
Quick witted
Sharp
Imaginative
An animal lover
A great older brother
Has a take-charge attitude
Excited to learn about everything
Is confident in anything remotely athletic

We try our best to help him learn what his emotions are so he can learn when they need to be controlled. Each year gets a little easier. His independent attitude can be very helpful. He loves his sisters and Freddie is his constant companion most days and nights since they sleep together regularly.

We are learning from him and with him every day. He is my mirror and I can usually (and not proudly) gauge my attitude for the day based on his. We all grow together and Cedrik has helped us the most so far!

Early days of June

Marie was given a hat that was already too small for her head. She is growing so fast. Already 12lbs. She calms at the sound of my voice.

Cedrik loves to hold her and she likes hearing him sing I Feel My Saviors Love-which he sings in a high soprano pitch. :)

Wheezer is constantly grabbing my phone, that's why I have so many selfies with her.

Freddie learned to unbuckle his helmet. It was a big accomplishment for him so we celebrated with a demonstration, root beer and a toast at dinner. He felt really special.

We watched the box trolls movie and used trader joes bags to make their own "boxes." They were named, C: Spyglass, F: Kettle, E: Fork. Cedrik kept in character most of the day and they were convinced there were box trolls peeking up from the sewer drains in the street.

We have large amounts of rainbow chard and lettuce. Yum!

Freddie wants to learn to ride without training wheels. Cedrik has decided he'll help him...most of the time.

Portraits with Marie

Queen Bees

These little girls are the princesses of the house, although they think they are the queens.

Eloise takes care of our Merry Marie and the rest of us. She brings our shoes, books, burp cloths, wipes, phones, water. She also like to sweep and she will usually clean up her water spills.

Marie smiles at Jordan and me and she's held mostly all day by someone in the house. She is content in milk comas.

Sunny Days

We have had the best weather. The kids are outside almost all day.

Jordan feels he finally has the yard caught up for now so he just needs to mow and weed.

The kids argue over who gets to hold Marie and who should hold her longer. When Eloise is ready to hold her she gets on the couch with a pillow and yells, "ooooOOOld er." Then she expects me to drop everything and bring Marie to her. Marie prefers that  Jordan or I hold her but she does okay when the kids do, at least for a little bit.

We celebrated our birthdays. Jordan turned the big 3-0 and is completely unaffected by it. The kids and I took Jordan to the botanical gardens, out to lunch and Goody's and finished the night with sloppy joes and Costco cake. Wonderful day.

We got a bird feeder and the birds from the reserve act like they are starving. They went through the entire bird feeder in a matter of hours. We'll be buying bird seed in bulk.
