Spence and Bethany

Spence came to visit and brought his lovely girlfriend, Bethany.  She is very fun.  She is bright and energetic and beautiful.  We had a really good time with both of them.  They played with the boys on Sunday.  After the boys were in bed we played charades.  It had been a long time since any of us had played it and it was hilarious.  We went to the aquarium which happened to be the ONLY time I remembered my camera.  We are hoping to see them again on Saturday because they are visiting her parents in Layton and may come down to SLC to see the lights on temple square with us while we are also visiting Julie and Nate.  We have a very busy weekend coming up.  I'm DETERMINED to make sure the camera is 1. charged 2. available at all times and 3. remembered at all times. :)

We also ate pizza with them on Monday night and we had a family dinner at Dad and Donna's on Tuesday night.  A REALLY good dinner.  Yum.  I made the vegan chocolate cake again and everyone who ate it, liked it.  Especially Bethany.  We love them.

Cedrik was very affraid of Nemo.

Seeing Dudo touch the fish and sting rays and everything else made Cedrik adventurous. It was so nice to see them bond!!

Freddie is ONE

We had Freddie's "party."  He ate vegan chocolate cake with coconut carmel sauce and coconut whipped cream.  IT WAS DEVINE.  He ate all of it.  He is the best eater.  He eats more than Cedrik at each sitting.  His eating greatly improved when I decided to finally let him feed himself.  He does a fantastic job and I always forget that babies figure things out so well on their own.  He is a happy baby.  He likes to talk over people.  He doesn't like kisses from Jordan because he can feel the scruff but everytime he hears the garage door open he starts saying "DADA" and crawls to the door.  He loves his dad. He also loves Cedrik.  They laugh a lot together and he is starting to take the punches he recieves very well.  He is thinking about walking and will walk holding on to something.  The few times he's let go he face plants.  He is a mess all.the.time.  He is almost always sticky or wet or dusty or shmeggy.  I wonder if he will be like this forever.  I kind of think he will.  He will balance Cedrik's OCD out.  He loves to snuggle and he loves to smile at people in church.  It is really cute.  He LOVES his monkey blanket and truly cannot go to sleep without it.  If it is on the ground anywhere he will so sit by it and rub his face all over it while smiling the whole time.  He also loves to laugh at the blanket.  He is wonderful and we can't believe it's already been a year.

Christmas Thus Far

We weren't going to go to the ward Christmas breakfast.  Then I got called to Relief Society and had to help out with food, etc.  Cedrik did not really like Santa but he did like the candy cane.  If he only knew it was his favorite man in the ward Brother Fuhriman.  Cedrik loves him and his wife SO much.  They used to be the nursery leaders and they ran a preschool for a long time so they really love kids and always call Cedrik "My Cedrik."  AKA "How is my Cedrik doing today?"  I don't ever hear them refer to other children this way....

I helped clean up after the party and I sat Cedrik down with his candy.  It entertained him for just the right amount of time.  The sugar rush followed.

Jordan and Cedrik went and picked out the Christmas tree and it was really cute.  We were going to cut it down, but this was the day it snowed in the mountains so we didn't want to deal with that.

Christmas through the eyes of a 2 year old:

Our tree already died.  Instead of having a fire hazard inside the house we have already taken it down.  Sad.

Our Normal Days

Family Photos

The day we went to take our family photos was an overcast day.  Which we thought would be great.  Except that Earth decided to put rain on Boise for the first time all summer that day.  It started out drizzling, then it rained.  On top of that, Cedrik didn't nap and Freddie's was cut short--two not so happy boys.  My step-brother, John, took our photos and given the boy's attitudes we did get a couple of good shots.  Mostly, the good ones are from Jordan and me.  In case you're wondering: these were taken at Katherine Albertson Park.

Seriously.
