Markers Anyone?

Yes, it got in Freddie's mouth.  It was one of those moments as a mom that you wonder how it happened because you just looked at him 10 seconds ago and then I was thankful they were "non-toxic."

I apologize for the non-existent blogging.  My camera has been "lost."  I found it in the one pile I have in the kitchen.  Hopefully I take some great pictures and not miss anything more!

Freddie is almost crawling.  He is 10 months old (as of yesterday!).  It is really easy to compare him Cedrik.  It is also easier than I thought to not think something is wrong.  He is totally on a different time frame.  He doesn't need to get anywhere quickly.  He kind of likes food.  He loves those dumb rice puffs but I've stopped giving them to him because he doesn't really care to eat anything else.  Food has become play time, which is the 10 month ideal.  He loves to drop everything over and over.  He talks/screams whenever the phone rings and we start talking to someone.  EVERY time.  He has 5 teeth and was in a substantial amount of pain over the last two coming in at once. He loves to sleep in bed with us but only to a certain point.  Some nights he wants to sprawl out in his crib, and in the mornings he wants to snuggle.  He is so pudgy and loving.

Cedrik did need to get somewhere quickly but I think he's still not sure where that is.  He LOVES books.  Let me repeat: He loves books.  I change out the books semi-frequently that are in his room (the ones we read at bed time).  Right now we have Stan the Garbage Man, Ready Freddy Halloween Parade, Pumpkins Pumpkins, some Halloween book that I can't stand (it's scary!) but he loves it.  There are others that are staples for bedtime.  Anyway, he has brought all his books into his bed.  He sleeps with all of his books.  He has mini heart-attacks if we suggest taking them out of the bed.  When we sing to him before he goes to sleep (Yes, we BOTH sing!!) it takes everything inside of him to put the book down and wait for us to finish singing so that he can get back to his book.  Last night I watched him through the tiny crack that is left when the door is open (also a new thing, and he is doing really well at not coming out at bedtime) and he was reading to himself.  Actually reading.  In his garbage man book, he opened it to the first page and said "Stan new garbage man."  Those are basically the first words!  It is amazing.  Obviously I am aware he is not reading the words (unless he is really trying to keep it a secret) but he remembers these books. I love him!

His quiet time.
