Labor Day Weekend 2012

Chari, Brandon and Taycee were able to finally come up and visit us again.  It has been a year since they've been up.  It was SUCH a good weekend.  Chari and I talked A.LOT.  We all played with the kids.  Cedrik and Taycee had fun playing with each other.  Cedrik pushed Taycee a few times.  Cedrik started saying "Oh my gosh; are you kidding me?" Chari and I made good food.  Jordan and I went to a baptism, well, baptisms.  There was a family that was baptized and it was one of the most spiritual things we have ever witnessed together.  I had stake choir practice and my dad was able to come and listen.  I made a samoan bundt cake...google it...now. You won't be sorry.  We went to the aquarium and a fish nibbled Cedrik's hand.  Brandon fed the fish and the sharks/sting rays.  We drove up to Hidden Springs for a Sunday drive.  Did I mention we ate a lot of food??

After they left, Cedrik napped and when he woke up we went to the new park off of Fairview and Eagle.  It is a cute park.  Cedrik rolled down a hill for the first time and swung to his heart's content.  Then Freddie started getting angry/tired so we went home and spent the rest of the day together as a family.  We had family home evening and it was the first time Cedrik sat through it and listened to the whole thing.  It was wonderful.

P.S. Some of these pictures are bad, and I forgot to take pictures most of the time they were here.  Sorry Carla!

So gross.

EWETAH

Cedrik loves to copy.  For some reason when he says Utah, it sounds like ewe-tah.  I know that looks like how it should sound...but it somehow comes out a little bit differently.  He also says sit but it sounds more like the four letter word starting with "s". And sometimes when he says kiss, it comes out like the five letter word that starts with "b".  The letter b is big in his vocab, and so is the "sh" sound.

Wow, long intro.  We went to Utah.  Our nephew Riley turned 8 and was baptized.  It was a fun time and the three cousins, Cedrik, Bowen and Taycee all played together.  They are all very funny and each have their own personalities but it was nice to see them really interact with each other.

One of the best parts of Cedrik's day. Riding in Grandpa's truck...with Grandpa AND Dad.

REAL beef.

Learning to fake fight with Riley.

Dylan turned 15 so his birthday was celebrated too!

Interacting!

Loving Grandpa.

"shy-shul-truck"

The men arm wrestled.

Playing in Grandpa's truck some more.

Cedrik's favorite cousin Chandler.

Food!

The long awaited day.  Freddie has eaten real food.  He has tried and liked:
Banana
Avacado
Pears
Peaches
Spinach, broccoli, pear mix
Carrot, sweet potato, apple mix
Those little rice puffs that do absolutely nothing for him

He has tried and disliked/made him gag:
Baby food from a jar
Peas
Carrots
Plain veggie mix

Cedrik really wants to help him eat

Play Dates

This summer has been unusually busy with playdates.  Each week Cedrik gets to play with Connor and Lily while Adrienne and I get to talk and talk and talk and talk. Ok, we do plan things for the kids to do so they aren't running around wild, well, kind of.  But he has also been able to play with Amelia and her little brother (a few months younger than Freddie) Colin.  Amelia and Cedrik are both getting into the "not wanting to share" stage so it is a little more tiresome to keep them happy with each other.  But, they love to hug each other.  And Connor, likes to kiss Cedrik, on the mouth.  Adrienne has told me that he doesn't do that to any other kids...at least they are loving!
