This week we studied farm animals. It was a pretty fun week. We did farm families and Cedrik and Freddie sorted animals together. Then Cedrik classified them as fathers mothers or kids and we learned some of the classification names (duckling, lamb, tom, colt, etc).
He drew a great picture of a big red barn, a cow (utters and all, without my direction!), a pig, a sheep and a dog.
Jordan's boss, Danny has a small farm. He had invited us to go out there a couple months ago to see his animals. He has two donkeys (Momo-the mom, and Maxwell-her son and totally cute), chickens (including Polish chickens which are so amazing), dogs, a cat, and 5 horses (Ben, Bennie, Allie, Lil, and another one) and cattle. The boys were able to ride the oldest horse, Ben and the black horse, which belongs to Danny's daughter, Randi.
Cedrik has been pretending to be Randi for days now. :) He fell in love with her after she let him ride with her. She is a really sweet girl.
We got to take home some eggs and the boys were so happy to have eggs for breakfast two days in a row. Cedrik told me I make the best eggs. Quite the compliment. :)
We get to go back at the beginning of May when they get their 4h dairy cow and lambs. Exciting!
The weather has been nice and we have played outside a lot. The boys will now play in the backyard and not leave so that gives me a few minutes to do something inside or feed Eloise. Cedrik drew me a rainbow (using his own color selection) and swept out the gutter just like his dad does.
