Freddie is Two

We had a big day. Freddie turned two, I can't believe he's two.

We started off the morning with blueberry pancakes. Cedrik really wanted chocolate chip but the birthday boy chose blueberries. :)

After, it took us awhile to get anything done but somehow Freddie managed to dress himself.  I talked to my grandpa on the phone. He has the same birthday as Freddie. He is 75 years older than Freddie.  He had forgotten they shared the day and it made him happy to remember. Freddie is his special boy.  They both have big square heads, so there has to be some kind of connection, right?

All the kids napped today (lovely) and after Shannon came for a quick visit. The boys LOVE her.  Then we watched some of The Little Engine That Could, by Freddie's request of course.  We skyped with Mom and Warren and they watched him open his present from them-A fire engine he can ride on which is a big hit. We all love skype.

We ate pizza for dinner (Freddie's favorite) and then Dad, Donna, John and Hartley came over for cake and presents. He got even more great gifts and the kids played for a long time while we all talked about which words and phrases we dislike hearing (moist, fish tacos, reach out, podium vs. lectern). John also gave us tips, and a demonstration, on how to make ourselves look better in pictures.  It was a really nice, and informative, evening. :)

Freddie is such a funny boy.  He knows what you are saying but pretends to not pay attention.  He isn't detail oriented which is a nice break.  He loves to sing and loves all musical instruments, especially the piano.  He will sit and read book after book with us.  He has started praying at meals and his little voice is so precious.  It's so cool to hear their sweet prayers.  He loves to be included in school and wants to help me around the house all day.  His laugh is contagious. And I love his kisses.  He is the balance our family needs.
