We learned about stars this week, mainly about our sun.
He learned what the hottest colored star is (blue) and got to glue stars from coolest to hottest. I had him hold his hand under the water and let it get warmer and warmer (he did not get burned!) for a sensory activity.
We learned about constellations, and he really liked the story of Perseus and Pegasus. We were able to talk about how people used to pray to the stars. I made little constellation things that you look through to see the constellation and I had him try to match them up (this was a little difficult for him).
We made star sugar cookies that were a big hit. He and Freddie made their own suns which turned out really cool.
I had him try to write his name, and he did awesome. I read an article about cursive writing and we are going to change to that instead of manuscript. (I don't push writing at all, and we only do it if he seems interested for the day.)
He has officially learned Articles of Faith 1-6 (using the songs and doing hand signs makes it much more fun and easy!).
It was a fun week. Next week we learn about planets and the solar system! It's amazing how much information I have forgotten and am re-learning.
Your suns turned out so great. You did so many fun things this week!
