Many Faces of Freddie

Freddie is so wonderful.  He naps.  He sleeps well when he isn't teething (and they are now sharing a room together!).  He lounges and sleeps in until at least 8 every day.  He started crawling about a month ago; he stands and will walk from the coffee table to the couch but will not let go.  He loves seeing Cedrik-unless Cedrik is pushing him down.  He loves to follow me to any room I am in and, unlike his brother, realizes that he doesn't have to be within eyesight of me all of his waking hours.  He doesn't really cry unless he is very hungry or if he is fake crying to get some attention.  He loves to yell whenever anyone is talking near him, especially dinner.  It is a hoarse yell but it isn't as bad as Cedrik's screeching.  He will be one in less than a month.  We can't believe it.

Cedrik also took this one.

Happy Halloween Tandy

I have combined all of our Halloween activities into this one post.  Lily came over and she and Cedrik painted with apples.  They were supposed to turn out looking like pumpkins, it ended up just being a big orange and purple mess.  At least they had fun. :)

We drove to Utah on Friday and Cedrik got in a little nap.  Before he fell asleep he pulled out all of his books and they ended up piled around him while he slept.

We had a very fun Halloween Party.  We were dressed up as superheros.

Mother Eve, Fat Head Fisted, Spell Chick, The Hibernator, Dr. (Something--I cannot think of the name), A Cowboy, Happy Little Super Hero, Autumn Crocus, Whatever Brandon was, and a Big Baby.

Happy Little Super Hero.  He was married to the only villain!

Scotch Guard, Galaxy Girl, Fashion Hero, Toilet Paper Girl, Super Nerd and Major Pain.

For our family home evening before Halloween we decided to make a jackolantern.  Cedrik thought it was awesome.  But each time he reached into the pumpkin he would only pull out one seed.  Jordan had to take the rest out himself.

Cedrik chose to make a happy face.  He wanted a "happy nose" to go along with it.
On Halloween we went and had pizza at Dad and Donna's house and then we went trick-or-treating (that seems really weird spelled out).  At the first house Cedrik got scared because a couple of scary dogs were barking inside.  After Jordan and I dragged him to the next house he calmed down.  My dad had a flashlight that he used after each house to see how much more candy Cedrik was getting.  After a couple of houses Cedrik was turning around as fast as he could to tell Papa "Papa, I got more! I got more 'tandy' Papa!"  At one house Cedrik decided he was going to try to steal candy from another boy's basket.  There were some other kids dressed with paint and masks on and Cedrik kept saying "people see you."
Freddie was a cute monkey.

Cedrik was a school bus...not to be confused with a school bus driver.

Jordan made the costume and in the front is where his candy was held. It was a big hit.

Papa teaching Cedrik to say "trick or treat." And no, Freddie did not face plant.

Cedrik has asked for his candy for a few days now and he calls it his Happy Halloween Candy.

Markers Anyone?

Yes, it got in Freddie's mouth.  It was one of those moments as a mom that you wonder how it happened because you just looked at him 10 seconds ago and then I was thankful they were "non-toxic."

Reader

I apologize for the non-existent blogging.  My camera has been "lost."  I found it in the one pile I have in the kitchen.  Hopefully I take some great pictures and not miss anything more!

Freddie is almost crawling.  He is 10 months old (as of yesterday!).  It is really easy to compare him Cedrik.  It is also easier than I thought to not think something is wrong.  He is totally on a different time frame.  He doesn't need to get anywhere quickly.  He kind of likes food.  He loves those dumb rice puffs but I've stopped giving them to him because he doesn't really care to eat anything else.  Food has become play time, which is the 10 month ideal.  He loves to drop everything over and over.  He talks/screams whenever the phone rings and we start talking to someone.  EVERY time.  He has 5 teeth and was in a substantial amount of pain over the last two coming in at once. He loves to sleep in bed with us but only to a certain point.  Some nights he wants to sprawl out in his crib, and in the mornings he wants to snuggle.  He is so pudgy and loving.

Cedrik did need to get somewhere quickly but I think he's still not sure where that is.  He LOVES books.  Let me repeat: He loves books.  I change out the books semi-frequently that are in his room (the ones we read at bed time).  Right now we have Stan the Garbage Man, Ready Freddy Halloween Parade, Pumpkins Pumpkins, some Halloween book that I can't stand (it's scary!) but he loves it.  There are others that are staples for bedtime.  Anyway, he has brought all his books into his bed.  He sleeps with all of his books.  He has mini heart-attacks if we suggest taking them out of the bed.  When we sing to him before he goes to sleep (Yes, we BOTH sing!!) it takes everything inside of him to put the book down and wait for us to finish singing so that he can get back to his book.  Last night I watched him through the tiny crack that is left when the door is open (also a new thing, and he is doing really well at not coming out at bedtime) and he was reading to himself.  Actually reading.  In his garbage man book, he opened it to the first page and said "Stan new garbage man."  Those are basically the first words!  It is amazing.  Obviously I am aware he is not reading the words (unless he is really trying to keep it a secret) but he remembers these books. I love him!

His quiet time.
