This St Patricks Day was wonderful.
We first read St. Patrick's Day in the Morning. Really great book.
The boys helped me make Irish soda farls. It was messy and fun. They tasted pretty good. The boys loved them. They were topped with strawberry jam and even Jordan (who doesn't like jam, thought they were pretty good).
Cedrik called my mom and thanked her for having Irish in her blood. And during the breakfast prayer he thanked Heavenly Father that we are Irish and that we were eating Irish food. My heart melted.
Cedrik deliberately didn't wear green. He thought is was hilarious to be pinched. During his nap time he changed into a green shirt. Freddie decided to wear a different pair of pajama pants, inside out, all day. He didn't wear a shirt until the middle of nap time. These boys. :)
Then we went on a hunt to find leprechaun gold. Cedrik was very aware that Jordan hid the gold and later he decided to hide some of his own. They ate all of the gold (I couldn't find those chocolate coins, but found some mini resses in gold wrappers and Hershey kisses.
Cedrik painted an Irish flag and then they/we face painted.
We watched Irish dubstep again, read books and listened to Irish music while they laid on me. During lunch, we ate Irish cheese. We recommend both of them.
After naps (or lack of naps) they found "Irish rocks" (I found the idea on Pinterest, along with almost everything else for the day). It was baking soda mush, that had hardened. They had to "wash" them in vinegar. Fun activity. Cedrik thinks it is really cool they "turned" into pennies.
FUN DAY. The cheese was my favorite part. :)
